With the new version 4 of Google Earth, simply clicking on a point no longer opens the folders in which it resides – it simply highlights the highest level folder which is closed (see the picture below). This is sometimes convenient, sometimes inconvenient (if you want to see that point you would normally open several folders, clicking the point each time to highlight the next folder in which it resides)
This instantly opens up all parent folders, and shows the point you’re right-clicking.
This is VERY useful if you want to quickly click on a series of nearby locations (checking light green “speeding pins” for MPH, checking stops for stop time, etc.):
Then just click/investigate each nearby location without having to open up several levels of group/date/points-path folders.
