GPS Insight has created a new Run Time Report which shows you the number of hours and miles your vehicles or tracked assets have run during a particular period of time.

You may run it for a certain group of vehicles (in this case “DAL” (Dallas)) for a range of dates (in this case January, 2008):

This outputs a report which details all of the vehicles’ labels, first and last activity, distance, ending odometer reading, run time for that period, and the run time for the life of the vehicle:

Note there are 2 types of vehicle included – those under “Total Engine Hours” and those under “GPS Run Time.”

The difference between them is whether or not the compute gives us the TOTAL LIFETIME RUN HOURS, which tends to only come from heavy duty vehicles, such as big rig trucks. They will show the TOTAL run time since they were “born” – unlike the other variety, which only show run time since our GPS tracking device was installed.

This is important to note for a few customers, but most customers do not need to know the total lifetime hours.

We will be extending this report shortly to allow the customer to set and reset maintenance reminders/alerts, and will update this documentation to include that new functionality when it is completed.
