In order to use Internet Explorer 7 with GPS Insight, specifically 3-D mapping (Google Earth), it is necessary to change the security settings for the trusted sites in IE (which include *.gpsinsight.com and *.networkcar.com) to “Low”.
If this is not done the built-in pop-up block will prevent these websites from opening. The appearance of Internet Explorer 7 blocking a 3-D map is very similar to how other pop-up blockers usually appear when blocking pages or files from opening.
After setting trusted sites, follow the following steps:
1. Be sure the Trusted Sites zone is still selected in the Internet Options window. Click Custom Level...
2. Change the setting to Low and click Reset.
3. Click Yes to confirm the change in security level.
4. Note that the security level has been changed to Low. Click Apply and then OK.
Support for setting up the trusted sites, which is required to use GPS Insight, can be found here.
